Well, it only took me 6 months to figure out my word of the year. It is definitely ORGANIZING. I have been minimalizing/destashing/organizing my house since January, and I am finally nearing the halfway mark. With the kitchen, pantry, cabinets, living room, 1/2 bathroom, coat closet, guest bathroom, and bookcases organized, it is now time to move onto the two rooms, other than the attic, that are the most challenging: the guest bedroom/office/craft room and the master bedroom. These two rooms not only cause me the most stress, but they are also the most out of control with stuff! I have very little closet space, so both closets are packed to the brim with everything from all 4 seasons worth of clothes to craft supplies to childhood toys. Yes! I still have three plastic bins of Barbies, Cabbage Patch Kids, and other ’80s goodies. I still don’t know if I’ll be able to part with that stuff yet.
One of the hardest things for me to destash is my craft stash. But, I know that it is time to get rid of a lot of it. I have craft stuff in the attic, in both closets, under my bed, and all over the guest bedroom. It is stuff that I have accumulated bought over the past 13 years. It is now time for it to go! I’m to a point now in the process where I have a lot of my craft supplies organized by craft. It is nice to walk into my craft space and know that my cross-stitch supplies are in one bin, my crochet in another, and so on. But, while I am destashing/minimalizing I am also organizing, which is why this project is dragging on for so long. One of my top organizational projects that I am working on is figuring out an easy way to see what yarn, thread, and felt I have, so I don’t buy duplicates. My felt is still pretty easy to flip through, so that project isn’t a top priority. My cross-stitch thread project will be a huge undertaking, which I just don’t have the time for now. So, that leaves my yarn. It is also where I tend to buy duplicates more than any thing else. I searched around the internet and found a really simple and cheap way to see what yarn colors I have. These little clothespin pegs are an easy way to not only see which yarn I have, but to make it easy to put them together in different colorways for crochet projects. I just wrapped some yarn around a closed clothespin and wrote the color on the front and the brand on the back. Easy peasy!

In personal news, I am still battling multiple migraines a month. I am headed to the neurologist in a few weeks to see if they can get me on a better path to fight my migraines. So, I have been spending little time crafting but lots of time watching quite a bit of TV, or at least listening to it when my migraines are too bad. If you are looking for a fun, nostalgic, and spooky series, I would highly recommend to anyone who has not seen it yet to check out Stranger Things. I am a huge fan, and I can’t say enough about how well written this season has been. We have the last 2 episodes of season 4 dropping on July 1, which I am super excited to see, although I’m worried about the fates of some of the characters. But, that is what makes this story so exciting! I am also re-watching Prison Break. Another of my favorite shows. The first season is fantastic! If you like a thriller/drama, you should definitely check it out. Hopefully, I’ll feel better this week and will be able to get some work done on my Apothecary Tote. I only have 2 weeks left to finish it, and I have fallen way behind.
