I have always loved to craft. As a little girl, I enjoyed designing with my Light Bright, Spirograph, and Fashion Plates. My neighborhood friend and I even started our first “craft business” at age 10, selling handmade cards door-to-door.
Then one Christmas, my grandmother gave me my first cross stitch kit, and I was instantly hooked on fiber art. I continued cross stitching and crafting through college, where I originally majored in music before switching to English. (I even constructed an entire Christmas dollhouse in my dorm room. It took an entire semester!)
I’m also a lifelong cat lover. I’ve been blessed to share my life with four wonderful girls: Tiger Lily, my childhood tabby who lived to 21; Drusilla, my loyal black cat shadow; Daphne, the sweetest girl with partial facial paralysis; and now Violet, my tabby/calico/tortie who somehow has a bit of all three previous cats in her personality, plus 100% tortie attitude!
These days, I’m bringing my love of music and fiber art together through my Album Blankets project. Each song becomes a square of color, and each album becomes a handmade piece.
Over the years, I’ve been blessed to have had a successful craft blog, Etsy shop, publications in several craft magazines, and an F+W Media compilation book. Not too shabby for a girl who started out with only a Light Bright!
