Welcome, friends. When I started blogging back in 2006, my vision was clear: blog about things I made and liked. Over the past 15+ years, that vision has become blurred. I have changed many times, tried to follow trends, gotten burned out, and ultimately stepped away from blogging because of it. It is now time to go back to the basics.
What to Expect
Crafting: My main focus with blogging has always been about my handmade crafts – the good, the bad, and the ugly! Unfortunately, due to the weight of life circumstances over the past 5 years, my crafting desire has dwindled down to zero. I have had no motivation to pick up a needle or hook, but I feel that weight now lifting.
I feel that the majority of my craft projects in 2022 will be hand stitching, crocheting, and cross-stitching. Those are my go to crafts anyway. I am looking into trying a few new crafts, but those will be few and far between.
Blogging: In addition to my crafts, I plan on posting about my favorite things, which could include craft tools, books, and patterns. I love giving shout outs to the amazing designers and artists whenever possible. If you have a craft shop or specific pattern you think I should try, leave a comment below or fill out the contact form on the top of the blog. I love trying new patterns, but please keep it to hand stitching, crocheting, and cross stitching.
In the past, I have placed many goals on my blogging. That is no more! I will now only blog what I want, when I want. So, there will be no set schedule for posts. I’m back to crafting daily now, so there should be regular craft posts, but how regular is the question.
Kitty Pics: I adopted Little Miss Violet only two months ago, so she is still settling in. But she is starting to let me take more and more pictures of her, so I am sure there will be plenty of kitty antics to post about on the blog and kitty pics to post on Instagram.
Back to the Blogging Basics
And while Stitch and Purr might be a brand new blog, it is 100% the old school way of blogging. I won’t be following the trends, attaching pop up ads to my blog posts, trying to take the “perfect” picture, or writing content for clicks. Nope! I’ll be blogging about me, my crafts, and my cat, Violet. If that sounds like something that interests you, please follow along with the fun!
